Job Description:
llumina is seeking a software developer to join the Product Development Instrument Software Engineering team. As part of this team, you will develop analysis-focused applications for our sequencing systems. Functions include analytic frameworks and pipelines, workflow orchestration, instrument control software, and integration with Illumina’s informatics ecosystem. Development is focused on C# under Windows, but include opportunities to work in other languages and environments. Required Skills & Experience: -Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science (preferred), Bioinformatics, or related field. -5+ years' experience in an object oriented programming language; C# strongly preferred. -Proven experience developing production level, customer facing applications in a scientific industry. -Experience designing and developing full stack features, from user interfaces to data management and analytics. -Able to write robust code that meets product requirements while being lean, maintainable, unit tested, and easy to understand; SCRUM experience a plus. -Experience with web technologies: JavaScript/HTML/CSS3, AngularJS, RESTful web services. -Self-starter mentality with excellent communication skills. Must be able to collaborate on cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers. -Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing and bioinformatics analysis algorithms, a plus. -Familiarity with Python and Linux, a plus. -Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skill.
