Mastech Digital provides digital and mainstream technology staff as well as Digital Transformation Services for leading American Corporations. We are currently seeking a Software Engineer-Front-End, JavaScript for our client in the Healthcare domain. This is a Contract position and the client is looking for someone to start immediately. The Software Engineer-Front-End, JavaScript would need to have at least 3+ years of experience. The Front-End Data Engineer will work with research scientists, computational biologists, and a back-end data engineer to help define and prototype applications that help to advance drug portfolio by enabling the integration and visualization of information related to drugs, potential targets, and competitive intelligence. Among other applications, this will include network visualizations of potential protein-protein interactions generated by a computational reasoning engine. Technical Skills: Required: - Solid JavaScript. - Experience with a JavaScript frameworks like AngularJS, Backbone.js etc. - JavaScript build tools; bower, grunt etc. - JQuery. - CSS. - Git, JIRA. - Linux shell scripting. - Python. - RESTful APIs. Preferred: - Jupyter notebooks. - D3 visualizations of biological data (understanding/exposure a BIG PLUS). - Docker containers. - AWS experience. - SQL and NoSQL data stores including Graph Dbs and Search Indexes. - Understanding of structured knowledge, representations and knowledge bases in biology (e.g. BEL, OBO/GO, ChEBI, MeSH). - Experience working with graph algorithms (e.g. centrality, radiality, random walk, page rank, TieDIE). Personal Skills: - Agile Team Work: Require engineers who fully understand the value of Agile Scrum/Kanban and take an active role in following the discipline Agile forces on the development cycle. Need Engineers who will work hard to see the team achieve high results. Education and Experience: - Education: BS Information Science, Computer Science, Biology, pharmacology, chemistry or related science - Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in the life science industry, bioinformatics, or computational biology.
