Job Description:
Bio-Rad's Digital Biology Center (DBCC) located in Cambridge, MA, provides the only fully-integrated DNA sequencing platform to help clinical laboratories diagnose genetic diseases and many forms of cancer. We offer a fun and energetic environment. We favor candidates who enjoy working in a collaborative and multi-disciplined team environment incorporating Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Software, Molecular Biology, Mechanical and Electrical.
We are looking for a motivated Software QA Tester to work as a part of a dynamic team using automated and manual software testing tools and strategies. This role will require the ability to design, build, maintain, and execute tests to ensure the quality of the company’s DNA sequencing platform.
Responsibilities:
• Review requirements and create test plans, protocols and cases to ensure code conforms to specified requirements
• Write, maintain and execute test plans and test cases (automated and manual)
• Provide clear and concise feedback to Software Engineers
• Submit, track and maintain issues using a bug tracking system
• Maintain test case tractability to requirements
• Document test coverage and findings
• Develop and distribute status reports
• White box and black box testing
Required Skills • Experience with Python
• Experience with Linux command line and scripts
• Experience with issue tracking systems (JIRA)
• Version control systems (SVN, Git)
• Excellent problem solving skills, attention to details and creative thinker at approaching problems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Motivated and ambitious
• Experience with Test management tools (Zephyr, Testlink)
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins, Bamboo)
• Exposure to Docker
• Software testing for medical devices
• Familiarity with automation hardware
• Automated Web Application testing
• Agile Development
• Knowledge of a regulated FDA environment
Required Experience • 3+ years of experience in software testing
• 2+ Writing and executing test plans
• 2+ Writing test automation scripts
• Experience with open source tools
• Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Bioinformatics
- M.Sc. or higher Degree in Computer Science
