Software Test Engineer

Job Description:
This position will require the candidate to test software developed internally and integrations with other systems. The candidate must be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly. The candidate must be customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Write and execute automated and manual software tests. Carefully analyze and document test results.
• Operate a variety of laboratory instrumentation and simulators to perform integration testing, system testing, and functionality testing.
• Assist software developers and domain experts in designing, performing verification testing.
• Continuously improve testing infrastructure and protocols.
• Work with scientists, technicians, engineers, manufacturing, marketing, and project management to deliver commercial and internal systems.
• Work in Scrum (Agile) teams within the software group, closely coordinating with software developers, systems analysts, and software project managers.
• Work independently in cross-functional teams.

• Proven level of troubleshooting abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in bioscience, computer science, or engineering related area.
• Basic proficiency in database technologies (SQL query language).
• Basic proficiency in at least one programming languages (Java, C#, C++, Python).

• 1 year operating, testing, and supporting software development.
• 1 year experience working in Software Quality Assurance (SQA) or other areas of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Understanding of Software Development, Mechanical Engineering, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Genotyping, Sequencing or Microarrays.
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
