The Program Management and Business Relationship Management for Bioinformatics will report to head of Bioinformatics. This role will provide leadership oversight for strategic programs (made up of related sub-programs and projects) and acts as a liaison between the business and Bioinformatics to prioritize initiatives across the enterprise. This position will work closely with senior business leaders, the Head of Bioinformatics and the Technology Prioritization Team (composed of Quest SMT members and Process Excellence) to establish and manage portfolio priorities. This role will be responsible for delivering approved projects and proactively managing and mitigating risk to project schedule, scope and cost. This position will play an integral role in ensuring successful delivery of a large-scale & complex Bioinformatics transformations and projects for both internal and external Clients. This role, and the successful execution of its responsibilities, will significantly impact our abilities to implement innovation, new test and solution launches, and integration of new acquisitions and critical performance improvement initiatives for our Advanced Diagnostics business unit. Duties And Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly Bioinformatics Priorities Team meetings, including shepherding requesting groups and ensuring that partner IT and PE teams are informed
- Provide comprehensive leadership oversight for prioritization and delivery of strategic programs (made up of related sub-programs and projects) that span the enterprise.
- Responsible for Bioinformatics project portfolio
- Proactively keep all stakeholders, including senior executives, informed of progress on a regular basis Identify project risk and work to mitigate risks
- Establish and manage Bioinformatics project management and business relationship management as key disciplines including templates, tools, and processes to ensure successful delivery
- Coordinate Project Managers, Demand Managers and Analysts within Bioinformatic subgroups; responsible for their coaching and development
- Understanding of business strategies that require Bioinformatics and the business value of key initiatives.
Qualifications
Education Preferred:- B.S. in Computer Science, Informatics or related fields
- Advanced degree preferred
- Knowledge of Molecular Biology, Next Generation Sequencing and array analysis
- Demonstrated experience in managing life cycle of Advanced Diagnostics products (molecular based tests)
- Similar industry or consulting experience leading portfolio management, prioritization and delivery
- Previous experience with Project/Program management, business relationship management in a technical area
- Experience in customer service and interacting with commercial teams in client projects and escalations
- Perform job duties with frequent interruptions or distractions
