Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Implement deep learning networks to provide automation of clinical tasks using one or more of medical images, electronic medical records, waveforms and clinical reports.
Implement scene labeling techniques for medical images
Implement image preprocessing and alignment algorithms
Hyper parameter optimization
Demonstrate algorithms meet accuracy requirements on general subject population through statistical analyses and error estimation
Write technical reports summarizing development, analysis, training and validation of the algorithms
Collaborate with team members and external experts
Stay up-to-date in the field of machine learning. Apply new technologies in development of products
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics or equivalent field;
MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics or equivalent field with a minimum of 2 years applicable professional experience;
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics or equivalent field with a great proven track record with a minimum of 5 years applicable professional experience
Have completed graduate-level coursework in statistics
Technical proficiency in languages such as R, Python, C++, Java, JavaScript etc. Eligibility Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We may sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
Must be willing to travel to attend meetings, workshops, conferences & etc.
Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
Must be willing to travel roughly 5% of the time

Desired Characteristics
Experience with medical imaging analysis leveraging deep learning methodologies using GPUs
Hands-on advanced proficiency in handling and analyzing large data sets such as medical imaging data.
Extensive experience with one or more of neural network libraries such as Caffe, Keras, Tensorflow, MxNet, Torch etc.
Expertise in broader machine learning techniques
Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills are required.
Experimental design experience
Experience with big data technologies and HPC such as the Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Hbase etc.
Deep knowledge in optimal computational environment required for data processing, data mining and machine learning
Experience working with biomedical non-imaging data
