Job Description:
Genentech is inviting applications for a senior scientist or scientist position (rank equivalent to associate professor with tenure or assistant professor in academia) in the Department of Cancer Immunology. We are seeking an outstanding individual to lead a research group in statistical and computational genetics, working in the context of cancer immunogenetics, pharmacogenetics and association studies with quantitative traits (e.g. immunological profiles). Strongest consideration will be given to candidates whose research group could also include wet lab activities aimed at validating candidate genetic associations. The successful candidate will head an independent research group whose mission will be to address fundamental issues related to germline genetics and epigenetics as determinants of immune phenotype variation; and to translate their discoveries into the identification of genetic determinants of response to cancer immunotherapy and/or the identification of novel targets for clinical development. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high-profile presence within the academic community and to publish impactful papers on their research.
