Sr. Software Analyst – Bioinformatics

Description:

The Bioinformatics & Computational Biology Department seeks a motivated Senior Software Analyst who wants to lead software teams and deliver transformational software that assists in discovering groundbreaking therapeutics. Applicants should have a demonstrated track record of managing successful software development projects including requirement gathering, creating project and contingency plans, managing cross team dependencies, and scheduling resources, preferably in a scientific environment. Applicants should have a learning mindset, should be able to work in a fluid environment, and should have a strong desire to pursue creative solutions to challenging problems.

Qualifications:

Desired candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, bioinformatics, or related field and at least 5 years of experience in software development. The ideal candidate enjoys working with customers and is passionate about working with them to deliver the greatest value through your software. Excellent communication skills and readiness to thrive in a dynamic organization with your ability to inspire and influence your peers is essential. A strong desire to follow software development best practices and ability to work across the full application stack is desirable. Our technologies include Java, Spring, Hibernate, JavaScript, modern HTML, CSS, REST, JSON, and SQL, and candidates must have experience with some of these technologies or similar ones. Candidates will be required to present work, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences including customers, technical colleagues, and management. Experience in developing bioinformatics analysis tools and in R, Perl, and Python are strong pluses.
