Job Description:
Position Summary
As a key member of the Illumina development team, you will create world-class data platform for our cutting-edge bioinformatics products. You will develop and maintain highly scalable systems and contribute to all aspects of the software development cycle. The ideal software engineering candidate will have strong analytical skills, effective communication skills, be independent, self -motivated, able to work efficiently in a dynamic and demanding environment.
What you will be doing:
Architecting, prototyping and designing data pipeline
Writing high level and detailed technical design documentation
Developing extensible, scalable, reliable software
Interacting with other teams to define interfaces and understand dependencies
Understanding and effect product direction.
Incorporating world class (open) systems and integrate with other systems.
Assists in timely identification of correcting and issues impacting the business and data stream
Coordinates the development and technical operations teams to solve application performance, security and stability issues
Plans, develops and deploys new functionality and configurations with minimal disruption to the business operations

Working knowledge of SQL and NoSql databases
Self-starter able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with multiple priorities
Ability to learn, evaluate and adapt tools/technologies to meet business and project objectives
