HealthTell, Inc is a well-funded, venture-backed start-up developing a breakthrough medical diagnostic platform that leverages the body’s immune system to enable early detection and monitoring of a wide range of chronic diseases. Our proprietary peptide microarrays provide a snapshot of a patient’s antibody repertoire at a given time. Circulating antibodies are naturally amplified by the immune system and reflect the body’s response to diseases, including infections, cancer, autoimmune diseases and Alzheimer’s disease. HealthTell will accurately diagnose diseases using its proprietary immunosignaturing approach with a single, minimally invasive test, and monitor disease progression and therapeutic response over time. The technology has great potential for application in many areas such as diagnosis, patient selection, disease monitoring, and therapeutic R&D.
Position Description
We are looking to hire the nucleus of our software development team. The Senior/Software Engineer is responsible for developing web applications and user interfaces for sample tracking, experiment design, and immunosignaturing data analysis and display. S/he works with the statistical and assay teams to design and implement a variety of specialized applications for constructing data tables, analyzing and visualizing data, and exploring relationships between variables to understand experimental results and product performance. S/he also develops, implements and integrates software for product support, including out-of-the-box programs, such as LIMS, CRM, inventory management applications, as well as novel custom software solutions, and will play a key role in the build-out of HealthTell’s compute architecture.

Responsibilities:
Develops web applications, graphical user interfaces and back-end logic, maintaining and extending current software infrastructure.
Works with data scientists to integrate mathematical data analysis modules into the analysis pipeline.
Develops data management tools to ensure timely and accurate acquisition and integration of clinical, sample, experiment, and immunosignaturing data
Works closely with Analytics and Research teams to ensure that the compute and database infrastructure meets the company’s needs for machine learning and analysis in a scalable and flexible manner, including integration of cloud computing where appropriate.
Supports the development and implementation of custom and off-the-shelf solutions to support HealthTell’s products, including LIMS, CRM, and patient reporting systems
Adheres to software engineering and source control best practices
Writes well-documented code, and provides detailed user and developer documentation
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
Must be fluent in Python
Significant experience developing database-backed web applications, experience with SQLAlchemy or Django preferred
Working knowledge of JavaScript and CSS; familiarity with Bootstrap and D3.js a plus
Experienced with the scientific Python stack, including Pandas, NumPy, and matplotlib.
Significant experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS/Bootstrap
Significant experience managing and maintaining web servers, specifically Apache
Experience with LIMS and CRM systems is a plus
Experience with scientific application development and SciKit-Learn is a plus
Must work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Strong communication and documentation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to deliver projects on short time frames using Agile approaches.
Familiarity with basic statistical analysis helpful.
Enthusiasm for working in a fast moving, collaborative environment
Required – Education and Experience:
BS (Masters preferred) in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related discipline
2-5 years of relevant experience
Desired – Additional Qualifications:
Experience in biotech and/or bioinformatics, especially working in a FDA-regulated environment a plus.
