Job Description:
Bio-Rad's Digital Biology Center (DBCC) located in Cambridge, MA, provides the only fully-integrated DNA sequencing platform to help clinical laboratories diagnose genetic diseases and many forms of cancer. This is an opportunity to work with an agile team developing control systems and application software for a complete lab on a chip. We are looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to establish the Software Quality Assurance function. We offer a fun and energetic open source environment. We favor candidates who enjoy working in a collaborative and multi-disciplined team environment incorporating Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Growing an SQA team from scratch Planning and tracking the development of an automated test pipeline Utilize a variety of open source technologies to build automation tools and test frameworks Drive processes to reduce test automation maintenance Developing test plans, protocols, and test cases Validation of test methods and tools Developing test automation for the instrument Writing, maintaining, and executing manual test plans and tests Write, Track, and maintain the bug tracking system White box and black box testing Ensure our systems meet high standards of quality, performance and reliability Help tackle software engineering challenges and contribute creative ideas cross-functionally Required Skills Familiarity with Python Ubuntu Linux environment Good communication skills, comfortable working with other teams and gathering requirements and suggestions Strong leadership and problem solving skills Inquisitive and ambitious Ability to work independently under minimal direction with strong work ethic Nice To Have:
Familiar with IEC 62304 ISO 13485 and FDA regulatory experience Laboratory protocol and practical experience Software testing for medical devices Familiarity with automation hardware Jira Zephyr Test Plan Software TestLink Testing Software Required Experience 5+ years writing manual test plans 5+ years writing automation scripts 2+ years growing and leading an SQA team Project management experience Experience with open source tools and resources Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
