Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:

Successful candidate conducts analyses, manages data and carries out programming tasks under the supervision of DSG faculty on biomedical research projects. Additional tasks include compiling reports, charts and tables based upon statistical analysis using statistical software.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Analyze genetic/biomedical data using SAS and R programs as well as custom software for genetic analysis.
  • Manipulate data and manage databases, including relational SAS, SQL and txt tables.
  • Execute quality control procedures for data and programs.
  • Generate accurate and thorough documentation of all work.
  • Participate in analytical discussions and help prepare conference presentation materials, as guided by faculty.
  • Comply with all DSG and Washington University regulations and policies and local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications:

Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or Epidemiology). Experience and proficiency with data analysis and data management utilizing statistical packages utilized by department/s.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of applied statistics desirable. Excellent skills in statistical analysis and programming required and familiarity with genetics concepts preferred.
  • Master's or PhD degreen in biostatistics, genetic epidemiology, biocomputing, bioinformatics or related field with 2+ years of experience in statistical analysis or bachelor's degree in the same disciplines with 5+ years experience.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge in use of statistical software (e.g. R, SAS, Perl, etc) with ability to perform statistical analysis; exercise good judgment and intrepret results. Good
  • knowledge of command line functions of Linux/Unix OS as well as knowledge of Windows or Mac OS.
  • Excellent verbal and written comunication abilities. Ability to operate independently and exercise good judgment.

Job Type/Schedule: This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.
