Job Description:
The Cell and Gene Therapy group is seeking a Statistical Research Associate II, who will work closely with research scientists and technicians to analyze a variety of Next-Generation DNA sequencing data associated with gene therapy studies. These may include some or all of the following: develop and maintain bioinformatics analysis pipelines for various gene therapy projects, create publication-ready figures, and consult with team members on statistical elements of ongoing research.

Qualifications:

A master’s degree in bioinformatics or related field with an understanding of DNA sequence analysis and experience using programming languages such as Python and R and scripting in a Unix environment. Exposure to bioinformatics tools used for DNA sequence analysis is important. Familiarity with common statistical tests for significance is desirable. The candidate is expected to have excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills that will be necessary to develop and maintain complex bioinformatics workflows. Experience with computational cluster software is preferred. This position also requires communication skills to work effectively with team members of diverse backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years of previous work experience.
