We are looking for a full stack PHP web developer intern to work on NIH funded projects. This could be your best chance to work on latest technology (Cloud, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, NLP and more) in a supercharged startup environment. We don’t expect you to match 100% with the job description however you must be a quick learner. You are able to work 10-20 hours/week, possibly more depending on projects. - Backend development, mainly PHP, sometimes Java and Python
- Frontend development, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- MySql Database schema design, NoSQL Database is plus
- Linux and Apache administration
- End-to-end design, development and testing of the assigned modules
- Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly while maintaining attention to detail
- Come to office 1-2 days a week, work at home rest of the time
- Pursuing BS/MS/ PHD in Computer Science, MIS, bioinformatics, biomedical or related fields
- One year experience of LAMP Web applications
- Familiar with software development lifecycle
- Good communication skills, innovative, entrepreneurial, positive attitude
- Ready to learn new technology and have lots of fun
- Must be local to Houston Area
