Job Description:
Main Duties and Responsibilities:


•Management of the downloading and implementation of quality control procedures for Illumina-based genotyping by sequencing (GBS) data in perennial ryegrass.


•Implementation and further development of bioinformatics pipelines for genome-wide identification of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from GBS data in perennial ryegrass.


•Assisting scientific staff and postgraduate students in the interpretation and use of GBS-derived SNP data for genetics and breeding studies in perennial ryegrass.

Person Specification


Essential


•Candidates must have a Level 6 degree in biological or computer science or a related discipline.


Desirable


•A Level 7 (or higher) qualification in bioinformatics would be a distinct advantage
