Job Description:
Lead the Molecular Biology Team towards the development and commercialization of innovative diagnostic assays.
Motivate and lead teams of scientists to accomplish product development goals; a technical leader and team player in a multidisciplinary environment.
Mentor and direct supervision, including direct hands-on participation in the development of molecular biology and chemistry methods.
Work closely with team members to ensure alignment and efficiency in designing and planning product development efforts and development plan execution.
Align the development plan to project timelines and delivering product design requirements successfully.
Provide staff with technical guidance and training, as well as identifying resources needed to meet or exceed project goals.
Data analysis and results interpretation to ensure assay meets product design and performance requirements.
Lead process troubleshooting efforts, optimization and identify opportunities for product development processes improvement in the molecular biology team.
REQUIREMENTS
Ph.D in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology or related field.
5 + years of scientific and development experience including 3+ years' experience managing a team of scientists.
Experience in development of diagnostic assay products, on time and on budget, under a Design Control Quality System.
Experience working with BSL-2+ level human pathogens and human clinical material, including bacterial and viral pathogens.
Work well in a team environment and demonstrated leadership skills.
Effective communication and time management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and presentation skills.
Excellent knowledge of basic statistics, data analysis tools and experience in DOE.
