Tenure-Track Faculty University of Texas at Austin - Austin, TX The College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two interdisciplinary faculty positions to be jointly held between the Center for Systems and Synthetic Biology and the Department of Molecular Biosciences. An ideal candidate would utilize systems, synthetic, or computational biology, as applied to topics in the molecular biosciences. Example research areas include new modalities of imaging or electron microscopy to study biological structure/function; applications of genomics or proteomics for Big Data-driven biological discoveries; the discovery of complex relationships between combinations of genes, biomolecules or phenotypic phenomena; large-scale design and synthesis of genes and genomes; or computational studies of molecular structure/function. Close interactions among the Center for Systems and Synthetic Biology, the Texas Advanced Computing Center, the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology, and the Genome Sequencing and Analysis Facility make The University of Texas at Austin a particularly attractive home for candidates in this interdisciplinary field. The joint faculty members will also be well positioned to contribute to the efforts of the new UT Austin Dell Medical School. One appointment will be at the level of tenure-track, Assistant Professor and one open in rank from Assistant up to Full Professor, as commensurate with experience.
