Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Data Intensive Biology
Location: Baltimore, MD
The Department of Biology at Johns Hopkins University is seeking to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor who applies data intensive approaches to investigate biological problems in creative and innovative ways. The new position has an anticipated starting date of July 1, 2015. This search is being conducted jointly with the Institute for Data Intensive Engineering and Science (IDIES, http://idies.jhu.edu), with which successful candidates would be affiliated. Candidates who apply computational, quantitative, or data intensive methods in any area of Biology will be considered. The Department is especially interested in candidates who bridge traditional disciplinary boundaries. Successful candidates will be expected to establish a vibrant research program and to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
This search is part of a major, multi-year expansion of the Department, including the addition of new faculty, infrastructure, and research space. New faculty will be able to forge strong connections with scientists throughout the Johns Hopkins community and influence the future direction of Biomedical research at Hopkins.
