You will balance between improving core technology of AmpliSeqTM and providing customized data analysis to support bench scientists. Key AmpliSeqTM responsibilities are supporting new panel development and monitoring performance of existing products. You will employ sequence analysis and structural methods to mitigate sequencing bias, as well as innovative data mining approaches for system improvement and troubleshooting. You will help molecular biologists with variant calling, phasing, and genome annotations, also work closely with product management and instrument teams. You will play a pivotal role in tool development, translating new product requirements into prototype and production-level software, testing in a fast-paced environment, and coordinating fixes. Other responsibilities include keeping abreast of the latest developments in genomics and algorithms, giving internal and external presentations, and maintaining contacts with customers.
Qualifications:
The position is offered to you having a Ph.D. degree related to bioinformatics, physics, biological or computer sciences, preferably with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience. Outstanding candidates with equivalent qualifications may be accepted. You are expected to work independently, be able to prioritize, focus and multi-task, with strong data mining and problem solving expertise. Effective communication skills, especially for presenting scientific results, keeping records and working collaboratively in a team are necessary. You should have solid knowledge of next-generation sequencing analysis under the Linux environment, with good understanding of software engineering and data analysis principles.
