Job Description:
We currently have several postdoc positions available. Candidates are expected to conduct research in one or more areas in the following: Develop computational methods, pipelines and toolkits for efficient single-cell sequencing and analysis. Collaborates with investigators on integrating single-cell RNA-Seq, methylation, and imaging etc; Develop computational methods to integrate multi-dimensional cancer genomics data (RNA-Seq, DNA methylation, exome-Seq, metabolomics etc) and imaging, in association with patient outcome measurements in population; Develop computational methods and models to elucidate genotype-phenotype relationships in non-coding genomics regions; Prepares manuscripts, grants and presents research at meetings. Supervise graduate students and undergraduate student when necessary. Performs minimal lab management duties. More information about the group can be found at: garmiregroup.org Requirements: -PhD Degree from in bioinformatics, electrical engineering, genetics, (bio) physics, (bio) statistics, computer science, or related major. -Strong independent research experience with high profile, first-author publications. -Must have excellent English written skills. -Working knowledge in Linux/Unix environment. Programming knowledge in at least two (2) of the following: Perl, R, Matlab, C, C++ or Java. -Deep experience with machine learning, deep-learning, data mining and statistical modeling methods. -Experience with building pipelines for high-throughput data processing using next generation sequencing, microarray etc., and experience with collaborations with experimental biologists. -Experience with building user-friendly software tools and databases. -Highly motivated to conduct research with minimum supervision. - Prior experience working with interdisciplinary teams is a bonus.
