Job Description:
Initial review of applications will begin on April 15, 2016, and continue until the position is filled. The successful candidate will be expected to support BCBI’s three-fold mission, to: (1) innovate how electronic biomedical and health data are used, (2) implement solutions for improving biomedical research and healthcare delivery, and (3) inspire the next generation of biomedical researchers and clinicians in partnership with collaborators in existing areas of excellence at Brown, its healthcare affiliates, and statewide healthcare organizations. A competitive startup package will be provided, with the expectation that a majority of the faculty’s research program will be supported through extramural funds within three years.
Competitive applicants will have a PhD, DPhil, or DSc in biomedical informatics or related discipline (e.g., computer science, applied mathematics, or biostatistics) with appropriate experience in applications in biomedical or health contexts. Candidates with a doctoral-level health degree (e.g., MD, DO, DDS, DVM, DNSc, DrPH, or PharmD) and post-doctoral experience in biomedical informatics (including clinical informatics fellowships) or related discipline will also be considered favorably.
