Qualifications

We expect you to be a highly motivated and highly ambitious scientist with the following qualifications:
PhD in molecular biology or stem cell biology, haematopoiesis, leukaemia/ myeloproliferative neoplasms or other cancers.
Expertise in molecular biology techniques, mouse models, bioinformatics, tissue culture.
Ability to communicate in written and spoken English is required.
Good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
A publication record as first author in the area of haematopoiesis and/or leukaemia/ myeloproliferative neoplasms is preferable.
Experience in attaining funding for programs in clinical and/or basic research is preferable.
Place of employment and work
The employment is at BRIC, University of Copenhagen, though place of work is at the Finsen Laboratory and in the group of associate professor Kim Theilgaard-Mönch, MD, DMSc, which is part of a larger research team of 25 people, all working on murine as well as human AML projects.
The Finsen Laboratory is affiliated with Rigshospitalet and BRIC, And both Finsen Laboratory and BRIC are located in the Biocenter, close to the centre of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and a number of core facilities shared between the 22 research groups at BRIC and the neighboring Finsen Laboratory. We have weekly journal clubs, data clubs, seminars with invited speakers and a young researchers club ASAP.

Rigshospitaltet represents the largest and most comprehensive academic hospital in Denmark. Its Department of Haematology is a national centre of expertise and has a longstanding and certified expertise for treatment of all haematological disorders in adults according to internationally accepted guidelines and standards.

The Department of Haematology's assignment is to provide patient care and participate in preclinical and clinical studies to improve the knowledge of the pathogenesis of haematological disorders. The current AML project includes a longstanding collaboration with dedicated clinicians at the Department of Haematology, who provide samples and clinical data from AML patients admitted to the clinic.
