The University of Oklahoma (OU) invites applicants for two, full-time research scientist positions in bioinformatics/computational science to support research and educational programs in environmental microbiome/genomics/ecology. We prefer individuals with experience in microbial metagenomic analyses related to bioenergy, climate change, environmental science or human health.Bioinformatician will use mathematical and computational tools to analyze microbiome data, develop new approaches for data analysis, manage data pipelines and web sites, and coordinate microbiome research. Candidates must have a Ph. D. in bioinformatics or related disciplines and experience in metagenomic analysis. Computational Scientist will develop mathematical approaches for big microbiome data analysis, design computational pipelines, manage cloud computing systems, and coordinate super-computing efforts. Candidates must have a Ph. D. in computational science or related disciplines and experience in algorithm and pipeline development, numerical computation, and computer system management.
