Shortlist Add to shortlist ApplyThe Department of Biology at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Biology to begin August 2016. Applications are invited in any area of Biology, but bioinformatics expertise is required. We are interested in candidates who develop and employ informatics and computational approaches to understand complex biological systems, ranging from microbial systems to humans, and from molecular to ecosystem levels. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in Biology or a related discipline, post-doctoral experience, and a strong track record in the analysis of genomics, proteomics, or high-throughput biochemical data, or in modeling complex biological systems, such as regulatory networks, using a range of statistical, mathematical, and bioinformatics approaches.
The successful candidate will be dedicated to excellence in undergraduate teaching, will be expected to teach upper division courses in Bioinformatics and/or other topics in Biology, and may be required to contribute to teaching General Biology, Cell Physiology, Genetics, or Evolution. The successful candidate will also be expected to apply for extramural funding to support his or her research program, and should be committed to involving undergraduate researchers in their work. University teaching experience, evidence of scholarship, an earned doctorate in the biological sciences, and an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of the University of San Francisco are required.
