The Connecticut College Departments of Biology and Computer Science seek applications for a one-year visiting lecturer position for academic year 2018-19 in the area of bioinformatics and genomics. Required qualifications: M.A., M.S., or Ph.D. by July 1, with expertise in bioinformatics, genomics, database systems, and programming. The successful candidates will have teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Teaching assignments for the position will include Informatics Programming, Genomics, Informatics, Bioinformatics, and Database Systems. The teaching load for full-time lecturers is 6 courses. Opportunities for research with undergraduates will be available. We value the contributions visitors bring to our community and encourage their active engagement with their departments and all aspects of campus life during the course of their appointment. Visiting faculty are appointed as participating members of the faculty, but they may become voting members by request. Their presence is welcome at all faculty meetings.
