Job Description:
The environment is predominantly comprised of Linux workstations and servers and the ideal candidate would be comfortable working with and administrating Linux systems specifically with the intent of developing templates for the virtualization environment. In addition, you will be responsible for documenting systems and in conjunction with other team members developing user guides and other systems specific materials to the contract. To be successful in this role, you should efficiently manage multiple assignments with a sense of urgency, structure, and attention to detail to ensure business continuity. You should also possess troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills; as well as strong communications skills for both written/oral interactions.
Core duties:
• Design, build and support virtual infrastructures including server and storage platforms
• Monitor and manage virtual machine infrastructure.
• Conduct research and provide all levels of support for issues pertaining to existing virtual machines
• Develop, implement and maintain documentation as it relates to the virtual infrastructure
• Interact with vendor(s) for problem resolution
• Work with a variety of technologies such as Isilon NAS and/or Hitachi virtualization storage solution, and VMware vCloud
• Obtain or maintain a VMware certification  Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Technology is preferred; or equivalent combination of less education and more experience will also be considered
• 4+ years’ experience with VMware or a competitive virtualization software solution
• Experience with Linux Administration and/or ability and willingness to learn
Desired Skills:
• VMware and experience with Linux System Administration is preferred. We are also open to considering candidates who are willing to learn Linux if they bring additional skills such as networking, or scripting and automation (Powershell, Bash or unix shell scripting)
• Network administration experience
• Experienced managing Virtualization Storage is preferred
• Experience managing and monitoring Enterprise Systems is preferred
• Customer service oriented to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction
The following certifications and/or experience are considered a plus in our selection process:
• VMware certification
• Isilon NAS and/or Hitachi virtualization storage solution experience; or comparable technologies and deployment experience
• 2+ years experience as a VMware architect
• Experience in designing and developing enterprise class VMware environments
• Experience with VMware vCloud suite
• Microsoft OS experience
