The Windber Research Institute (www.wriwindber.org) is dedicated to patients and their families in regional, national and international communities. Through excellence in biomedical research, strategic clinical partnerships and programs, we focus on the study of human disease mechanisms, identification of biomarkers, and development of new drug targets. 

One full time positions is open to lead data analysis and data mining to support integrative biomedical research on breast cancer and other human diseases, using data acquired with clinicopathologic, genomic, and proteomic technologies both within the institute and with our collaborators as well as from the public domain. The successful applicant will join a highly interactive and multidisciplinary research environment including surgeons, basic research scientists, and biomedical informaticians, to work both independently and as a team player. Qualifications - A PhD in bioinformatics, biomedical informatics, or a related discipline is required with two years of postdoctoral experiences. Must have proven capability in applying bioinformatics software to analyzing data from major experimental platforms such as DNA/RNA sequencing (NextGen), SNP arrays, DNA methylation arrays, gene expression arrays, protein arrays, and mass spectrometry proteomics. Relational database knowledge and programming capability are expected. The successful applicant will both lead bioinformatic research projects and provide data analysis support to other researchers. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the capability to write reports and scientific papers are expected.
