We are looking for an enthusiastic bioinformatician to undertake research into cassava and wheat genetic diversity, exploring genotyping-by-sequencing data (DArTseq) for 4K accessions from the CIAT global cassava collection, 150K wheat accessions from the CIMMYT seed bank and whole genome sequence data for selected cassava accessions. Based at NIAB, Cambridge, UK, we are looking to recruit a talented post-doctoral geneticist for a BBSRC-funded project between institutes in the UK and India, supporting the development of a large wheat multi-parent population for genetic analyses of complex traits related to heat tolerance. The successful applicant must have a PhD in genetics, be highly motivated, and possess a relevant publication/scientific presentation history. The following attributes are also highly desirable: experience in (1) crop genetics, (2) multi-parent genetic mapping populations, (3) next-generation sequencing data analysis and bioinformatics, and (4) supervision of students/scientists.
