Job Company: UCLA
We are looking for a highly-motivated postdoctoral fellow to work with Prof. Sriram Sankararaman in the Departments of Computer Science and Human Genetics at UCLA. We have broad research interests: ranging from statistical inference and machine learning algorithms and application of these tools to problems in medical and population genomics. [More]
Under supervision of the Principal Investigator, the SRA II will perform computational and bioinformatic experiments to support research projects investigating the genetic underpinnings of neurodevelopmental disorders including autism and neurodegenerative diseases including hereditary ataxia. Job duties primarily (85% or more) involve the analysis of next-generation genomic sequencing data to identify mutations and other forms of variation [More]
The research group “Junction of Statistics and Biology” led by Professor Jingyi Jessica Li in the Department of Statistics at UCLA invites applications for a postdoctoral position, available from November 2016. The research in the group focuses on developing statistical methods to address important biological and biomedical questions from high-throughput genetic and genomic data. Our current projects include: modeling bulk and single-cell RNA sequencing data for identifying and quantifying full-length mRNA transcripts, systematic identification of gene-gene and protein-DNA relationships using diverse genomic data, large-scale comparison of biological samples from different species using epigenomic and transcriptomic data, and statistical methodology development motivated by genomic applications (e.g., asymmetric error control in binary classification, high-dimensional variable selection, and measures of dependence). The Department of Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology (MCDB) and the new Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCB) are searching for one joint faculty appointment at either the junior or senior level. All computational biologists working in any area of molecular, cell, and developmental biology with a particular interest in plant biology are invited to apply. [More]
Open-ranked faculty position (tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate/Full Professor) split in the Department of Statistics (50%) and Department of Mathematics (50%) at the University of California, Los Angeles. [More]
Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions available in the laboratory “Epigenetic Regulation of Cell Identity” headed by Dr. Michael WEBER at the CNRS in Strasbourg (France). The positions are funded for up to three years. [More]
UCLA has established the interdepartmental Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCBio) to lead the transformation of biology and biomedicine into a data-rich and math-based, truly predictive science. QCBio faculty pioneer novel measurement capabilities, leverage electronic databases, and develop diverse computational approaches to accelerate (i) discovery across biological scales, (ii) the translation of basic knowledge to application, and (iii) the transformation of biosciences research training and education.
