We seek a candidate to join our team researching the role of microbial populations in recirculating aquaculture systems, in anaerobic digesters and in hydroponics units, with the goal of better understanding conditions that will maximise beneficial transfers of microbes and their products among components of decoupled aquaponics systems. Mitochondria contain their own genome that codes for several subunits of the respiratory chain. We have developed both in vivo and in vitro techniques to study mitochondrial DNA replication. With this project the candidate will study how the mitochondrial genome is replicated in human cells and how errors in this process can arise. The aim of this project is to study the molecular mechanisms and its regulation of DNA replication. The project mainly involves work with purified proteins and in vitro experiments, but also bioinformatics, molecular and cell biology are necessary for the project. An achieved doctoral degree is compulsory for a position as postdoctor at Göteborg University. [More]
One postdoctoral position is available at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The position is part of the NNBCR consortium – Novel Neuroblastoma Biomarkers of Clinical Relevance (http://www.nnbcr.se).NNBCR is financed by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research. The overall aim of the project is to identify novel biomarkers and increase our understanding of the molecular basis of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma. NNBCR includes several research groups from the University of Gothenburg and Karolinska Institutet. [More]

Four postdoctoral positions are available at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, within a newly formed consortium funded by the Knut & Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The overall aim of the project is to identify key regulatory long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) involved in tumor development and cellular differentiation. Candidate molecules will be identified and characterized using a range of experimental and computational techniques, ranging from large-scale genomics to focused biochemical studies. We therefore aim to recruit several postdocs with complementary scientific skills. The consortium consists of six research group at the Institute of Biomedicine at Sahlgrenska Academy. [More]
