Job Description:
We seeking a Research Fellow in Clinical Bioinformatics to take the lead in providing bioinformatics expertise to a multi-disciplinary team at NDM Experimental Medicine. The postholder will work between the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology and the John Radcliffe Hospital sites. As our Research Fellow in Clinical Bioinformatics, you will undertake and support projects which contribute to the Oxford IBD cohort study and the Gastrointestinal Biobank and help understanding of inflammatory bowel disease and other inflammatory disorders. You will also collaborate with experimental groups at the Kennedy Institute and the Translational Gastroenterology Unit, clinicians studying disease cohorts across BRC themes such as infection, rheumatology, hepatology and informatic researchers (for example in the fields of statistical genetics and machine learning). You will hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific subject and have demonstrable experience, ability to process and analyse gene expression data sets (such as array and RNA sequencing datasets), exome and genome sequencing data, and practical success in biostatistics or bioinformatics. It would also be desirable if you had cross-disciplinary collaborative experience.
