Roles and Responsibilities: The qualified applicant will be involved in all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering, analysis and design, development, testing, implementation, and production support. In addition to performing software development, the Developer will be supporting development efforts and performing software development functions in a small project setting; Understand the software development life cycle, and familiarity with an information engineering approach to development; Familiar with all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering, analysis and design, development, testing, implementation, and production support; Design, develop and support .NET /SQL based code for web and desktop applications; Perform database design, updates, queries, and generate reports; Develop and test applications and integration of functionality as needed to ensure compliance with CDC and HHS standards; Ensure secure coding practices are adhered to in all phases of the secure development lifecycle. Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Evaluates interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall system. Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
- 10 years of experience as a Developer in the analysis, design, hands-on development and delivery of web-based applications using ASP.NET/C#.
- 10 years of experience in developing web applications with Microsoft .NET technologies.
- 10 years of experience with relational databases and content management systems.
- Experience with responsive web design principles and techniques.
- Experience with web server and web application performance optimization and tuning.
- Experience with source control.
- Experience with bioinformatics and bioinformaticians.
- Proficient in C#, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, T-SQL, jQuery, Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Windows, Bootstrap 3, GIT, JSON, XML.
- Ability to prioritize conflicting objectives and requests from stakeholders.
- Ability to nurture and maintain relationships with personnel across a complex bureaucratic organizational structure.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Creative and strong customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to present and clearly understand and articulate technology issues, initiatives, and the pro/cons of alternatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience and knowledge of the CDC culture, mission, and IT environment.
- Experience working with Agile (Scrum) project team development environments.
