Applications are invited for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (CRC) tenure-track position at the Ottawa Institute of Systems Biology (OISB) at the University of Ottawa. Composed of 15 core scientists primarily affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine, the OISB is interested in the application of systems biology to innovative ideas and key questions that are relevant to human health and, more particularly, in fundamental processes and clinical applications relevant to neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular and vascular biology, cancer, metabolism and human-pathogen interactions. The ideal candidate aspires to be a future leader in the field of biomedical orientated systems biology – including, but not limited to, the fields of proteomics, protein structure and dynamics, functional and chemical genomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, high throughput screening, computational biology and bioinformatics. The candidate must have the potential to develop an innovative and collaborative research program that complements ongoing research efforts at the OISB and engage with local, national, and international research networks. Tier 2 Chairs, tenable for five years and renewable once, are for exceptional emerging researchers, acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to lead in their field. Required Qualifications: A PhD and/or MD in a relevant field, strong achievements in the relevant area(s), a commitment to teaching and graduate training, a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and excellent communication skills in either English or French. Rank and Salary: Regular academic tenure-track appointment in the relevant Faculty.
