Job Description:
Tasks and Responsibilities: · Develop and maintain analysis pipelines for next generation sequencing data. · Deep dive analysis of targeted and UMI sequencing datasets to assess data/experiment quality. · Trouble shooting and problem solving code, NGS experiments, and run failure patterns. · Provide statistical advice and guidance on experimental design and analysis of experimental results. · Develop and maintain standalone scripts in R&D, clinical lab, clinical services, manufacturing and quality control. · Maintain software coding, testing and documentation standards while growing adoption of shared libraries and scripts across the organization. · Solve complex technology and development challenges. Required Skills & Experience: · MS/PhD in bioinformatics, mathematics, computer science, biology, chemistry, or similar, with 3+ years experience in an industrial environment. Experience in clinical diagnostics desired but not required · Expertise with Linux, Python, Matlab, R. Also useful, Microsoft Excel · Previous experience with next generation sequence alignment tools, unique molecular identifier (UMI) experiments, preferably in a diagnostics development environment. · Experience with current bioinformatics tools supporting NGS applications (BWA, SAMtools, GATK, RNASeq, ChiPSeq, etc). · Previous experience with managed code and source control concepts. · Prior experience developing and maintaining analysis pipelines. · Results oriented and methodical – must work within tight schedules. Must be able to design experiments and perform data analysis for others and have demonstrated experience in achieving results with team members in non-biological disciplines. · Ability to work collaboratively with people across multiple functional areas.
