We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate in computational biochemistry to investigate the dynamics and explore the atomic basis of kinetic control in ionotropic glutamate receptors. Applicants should possess, or expect to obtain soon, a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics or a related area and should have extensive experience of molecular dynamics simulations and free energy calculations. As the project forms part of a larger ongoing collaboration, excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people from different scientific backgrounds is an absolute requirement for the post. Experience of high performance computing and some system administration would also be advantageous.

This full-time post is funded by the BBSRC for up to 3 years provided that satisfactory progress is made during an initial probationary period, and is based in the laboratory of Dr Philip Biggin in the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Oxford, South Parks Road, Oxford. The actual starting salary offered will be based on qualifications and relevant skills acquired and will also be determined by the funding available.
