Ancestry wants your DNA! Ancestry is currently seeking highly motivated, mobile-savvy intern who can work full-time for 12-16 weeks during Summer 2017. Our summer internships allow you the freedom to experience impactful business projects that allow you to develop your talents, enjoy mentorship, and experience challenging work all while receiving fantastic pay and having a lot of fun—we have it all. Internship Project Description: If you are passionate about DNA and Mobile Software Development this will be an incredible experience for you. You will work in a professional environment (but in shorts and sandals) and have ample opportunity to network with department heads and other professionals within your discipline. The DNA Mobile Software Engineer Intern will work with and be mentored by senior software developers on the mobile team. This is what you will do…. -Help develop mobile features on iOS or Android or both! -Work in Swift 3/XCode on iOS or Java/Android Studio. -Experience a Kanban (agile) style development process. -Learn about networking, mapping, location based services, UI and animations, git, and current best practices in mobile development. Tasks & deliverables: -Contribute code that will be used by millions of users. -Find and suggest improvements to production code. -Create pull requests and review code of others. -Improve code quality through unit and integration testing while learning mobile development best practices. Qualifications: -Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (for example: Bioinformatics, EE, Computer Engineering, Math, and Physics). -Must be currently enrolled in university with graduation dates starting in Spring 2017 forward. -Some experience with mobile development on iOS or Android.
