Job Description:
-The programmer analyst will assist in designing software and analytical tools for supporting Bioinformatics and scientific research projects. -This would require development or implementation of new or existing applications,tools. -This position will work closely with research investigators as well as project leads to analyze the requirements and implement the systems to support various in-house research projects. -Data analysis with tools like SpotFire or SAS-JMP are essential. -The position is suited for collaborative multi-disciplinary setting. The candidate should be highly enthusiastic, collaborative and willing to help Scientists by adjusting priorities appropriately. Position Requirements: -This is a mid level position with a minimum of 4 years of experience handling Bioinformatics data sets in a research or industry setting. -Programming experience in XML, Java Scripts, PERL scripting, statistical tools is required. -Strong working knowledge of various sequence and alignment algorithms like BLAST, FASTA and prediction tools with reference to HMMs, SVMs is necessary. -Develop algorithms for data analyses and visualization. -Research and recommend appropriate tools for informatics algorithms. -Exposure to SQL or Oracle database models for sequence and sequence properties storage would be helpful. -The candidate should have some knowledge about antibodies as therapeutics. Previous work experience in antibody-based informatics is a plus. Skills: -The team has been tasked with data analysis pipeline establishment for Next Gen Sequencing efforts for Hybridoma and B-Cell Cloning techniques. -The team would augment staff appropriately to fill the gaps and help in project delivery. -This position would be responsible for hands-on antibody sequence data analysis and annotation for antibody screening and discovery. Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science (with Biology as minor) or related discipline. -Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis. -Masters or Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Biostatistics, Mathematics or related discipline -Hands-on experience developing Computational tools for sequence analyses from Next Gen and Sanger platforms -Extensive experience in scripting languages like PERL, Python etc., and analyses tools like R, SAS JMP etc. -Knowledge of antibodies in drug discovery process -Familiarity with web interface development and server-side programming -Knowledge about Cloud computation and access models. Experience: -Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in an industry or academic setting. -Experience with a number of programming languages and statistical tools and Good software engineering practices like version control is desired.(Preferred)
