Job Description:
Design and implement industry best practices for the management of genomics data for the KP Research Bank. Works under the direction of the KP Research Bank Executive Director and Data Coordinating Core Director to identify requirements for genomics data systems, automated workflows, and genomic data provenance. Negotiates performance expectations with customers and creates project work plans to match. In collaboration with project team and IT, develops data definitions consistent with data management standards and conventions. Essential Responsibilities: -Planning, Designing, and Advising on Data Genomic Data Systems to include: 1) designs robust and scalable processes for managing large genomic data sets, 2) provides expertise on genomic data sources, 3) Manage genome sequence files and databases, and 4) Identifies information gaps and uses advanced knowledge of data sources and technology to recommend solutions and initiates appropriate activity. Takes responsibility for the accessibility, retrievability, and security of specific subsets of information. Provides advice on the transformation of information from one format/medium to another -Systems Design and Selection. Ensures software solutions follow industry best practices, strategies, and architectures. Provides recommendations for technical solutions that meet design and functional needs. Responsible for leveraging both Waterfall and Agile practices, to design and deliver resilient, secure, high-volume, high-transaction, on/off-premise, cloud-based solutions. Supports component integration testing (CIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for application initiatives. -Project Coordination & Business Analysis. Supports the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; ensuring team follows all procedures and policies; coordinating and assigning resources to accomplish priorities and deadlines; collaborating cross-functionally to make effective business decisions. Translates business requirements and into technical designs and software solutions by partnering with team members to understand business needs and functional specifications. Communication & Support. Build and maintains trusting relationships with internal customers to ensure the alignment, buy-in, and support of diverse project stakeholders. Build partnerships with IT teams and vendors to ensure written code adheres to company architectural standards, design patterns, and technical specifications. -Documentation. Documents processes, data structures, and data flows. Writes technical specification documentation. -Innovation. Stays abreast of genomic data storage and handling requirements. Seeks, identifies, and proposes innovative solutions. Exercises judgement on ambiguous work assignments and collaborates when needed to make decisions.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: Experience: Minimum seven (7) years combined experience, to include a minimum of five (5) years directly related experience in handling and managing large datasets, database technologies, genome databases (particularly those relating to genome annotation, variant annotation, and biological pathways); and a minimum of two (2) years experience in genomics and bioinformatics. Education: Masters degree in health sciences, informatics, computer sciences, or genomics sciences, or directly related field required. License, Certification, Registration: N/A Additional Requirements: Must be able to work in a Labor/Manaagement Partnership environment. Preferred Qualifications: PhD degree in health sciences, informatics, computer sciences or genomics sciences, or a directly related field.Requeriments :
