Job Description:
Applications are invited for a position in the Epithelial Tumour Biology group at the University of Cambridge which focuses on studying and identifying the earliest cellular changes leading to breast and lung cancer (Khaled W.T. 2015 Nat Commun, Bach K. et al. Nat Commun 2017 & Lazarus K. et al. Nat Commun 2018). In this project we will be working in collaboration with Dr. John Marioni (EBI, CRUK, CI) to build a comprehensive breast cell atlas. We will be using scRNAseq, scATACseq and CRISPR-scaring to chart the cellular changes in the breast under different healthy conditions. These tools will allow us to understand the impact of age and parity, known breast cancer risk factors, on cell fate and tissue homeostasis.
Additional Info:
Applicants should have a strong interest in developmental biology, cancer biology and are expected to hold or obtain shortly, a PhD in the life sciences. They must have demonstrable experience in one or more of the following areas:
Analysing NGS data (using Unix, R, Python, etc.)
Studying genetically engineered mouse models (ideally breast or lung cancer models)
Tumour immunology
Cell biology
