Analytics Scientist, the Data & Analytics department, Full Time Days, University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL We're hiring an Analytics Scientist for the Data & Analytics department for a Full-Time, Days shift for the University of Chicago Medicine in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL. In this role, the Analytics Scientist provides data exploration expertise that yields actionable insights and intuitive visualizations to assist organizational leadership with operations, change monitoring, strategic planning and program development. They will work directly with internal constituents by providing analytics consultation to help guide decisions that maximize clinical effectiveness, enhance quality of care and minimize waste and variability within the UCM health system. They will also assist in defining in business terms the data and analytics approaches for capitalizing on key opportunities. Analytics Scientist Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics/Statistics, Healthcare Administration or a related field from an accredited academic body is required; 5 or more years of progressive experience in a similar position is preferred.
- A Master’s degree is preferred in aforementioned disciplines.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills is needed.
- Demonstrated experience in database architecture, database design and BI practices required.
- Understanding of healthcare data preferred.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills is required.
- Excellent collaboration skill sets required.
- Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft SQL.PL/SQL, Crystal Reports, SAS, R and XML is required.
- Experience in Cognos 8.X/10.X: Report Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, Analysis Studio, and Cognos architecture required.
- Familiar with C, Java, C#, C++ or other object-oriented languages required.
