Job Description:
Alexey Nesvizhskii’s laboratory in the Department of Pathology is looking for an Applications Programmer.

Responsibilities:

The successful individual will develop advanced computational methods and algorithms for mass spectrometry-based data proteomics and metabolomics data. This individual will also assist with the development and management of existing bioinformatics pipelines for processing and visualizing proteomics data developed in the lab (including BatMass and our toolbox for ion mobility mass spectrometry data).

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree in a technical field (bioinformatics, physics, computer science, etc.), and over 5 years of experience with developing algorithms and software for mass spectrometry data. Expert knowledge of programming in Java, deep knowledge of mass spectrometry data, and working knowledge of Python and relational databases are expected.

• Python

•Experience with implementing and running bioinformatics pipelines on Linux

• Statistical analysis and data visualization using R
