Job Description:
Performs teaching and research in the areas of introductory biology, computational biology, bioinformatics and/or epidemiology. Also performs teaching to non-science majors in the biological, environmental and forensic sciences. Expertise with Bayesian networks applied to biological evidence problems would be favorable. Experience with setting up and maintaining scientific computing environments would also be favorable.

The successful applicant will also be expected to share responsibility for committee and department assignments, administrative and supervisory functions, and perform guidance duties for the Cell-and-Molecular Biology B.S. major.

QUALIFICATIONS

For Assistant or Associate: Ph.D. degree in area(s) of Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Epidemiology or closely related area. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement (e.g. established publication record in the peer-reviewed scientific literature), and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. Candidates should also show promise for obtaining external funding for their research interests.
