Job Description:
The Department of Engineering Technology of the College of Technology at the University of Houston is seeking to fill one Tenure-Track faculty at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Biotechnology program starting fall 2017. The appointment level will commensurate with the candidates’ industrial and academic experience. The successful candidate will have earned a B.S. and a doctoral degree in Life Sciences or related field.Particular areas of interest include molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, chemistry, and bioinformatics and regulatory affairs. Work experience in genomics proteomics and bioinformatics is highly preferred. The candidate will also be expected to assist in program management and advising. Candidates with teaching and/or research interests at the interface of two or more areas are especially encouraged to apply. Faculty members are expected to develop new courses, teach existing courses, and collaborate with fellow faculty in curriculum issues, articulate well with industry, and contribute to the continuous improvement and outcome-based assessment of the program. The department is seeking outstanding candidates with the potential for exceptional research, excellence in teaching, and a clear commitment to enhancing the diversity of the faculty, graduate, and undergraduate student population.
