Job Description:
The Dan Duncan Cancer Center is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a critical role in bioinformatics data analysis. The successful candidate will perform bioinformatics data analysis to understand epigenetic gene regulation and transcription dynamics in various biological processes and disease models such as cancer; will design, develop and test bioinformatics algorithms for RNA-seq analysis in the context of cancer and stem cells; will actively collaborate with bench scientists to investigate genetic/epigenetic mechanisms in gene function variation, expression regulation and their implications in biological phenotypes, e.g. aging, cancer and heart diseases; will co-mentor postdoc trainees and/or Ph.D.graduate students. Minimum Qualifications: Education: · Required: Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or other disciplines with strong quantitative background. Experience: · Required: At least 3 years experience in a medical and health related setting. Certification/Licenses/ Registration: · None Required.
