Job Description:
Fisk University (www.fisk.edu) invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of assistant professor in the broad area of computational biology, with demonstrated potential for excellence in student-centered undergraduate teaching and for developing a research program capable of attracting external funding and publishing peer-reviewed papers with undergraduate co-authors. This faculty member also will serve as a mentor in the nationally recognized Fisk-Vanderbilt Master’s to PhD Bridge Program. A Ph.D. degree and training that embraces both biological and computational sciences is required, and postdoctoral training is optimal.

Starting Date: January 2018

Responsibilities:

Research and Teaching of Bioinformatics I and II, enhancing and developing new courses that integrate computational tools into Life Science courses for the Natural Sciences, and embedding authentic research into courses-associated laboratories.

Qualifications:

PhD and at least two years of post-doctoral research experience; post-doctoral research that included mentored teaching preferred.

Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
