Job Description:
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position, starting August 2018. Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science or closely related field, have a strong research record, and be committed to excellence in both research and teaching. We are especially interested in hiring a candidate with a research background in Hardware Security.

We currently have four successful faculty members working in the Cybersecurity and privacy areas, with focus on Systems, Network Security and Privacy. The ideal candidate in Hardware Security will complement and further strengthen our department’s research and education efforts in Computer Security and Privacy. This position offers a competitive salary and generous startup package. has established an Institute for Cyber Security and Privacy (), which is housed in the Computer Science Department. Computer Science is a growing and congenial department of 27 faculty within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. The department has 1065 undergraduate and over 175 graduate students and offers the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in CS. The teaching load allows for substantial concentration on research. In addition to the areas in which we are recruiting, our faculty cover a broad range of research interests, including brain mapping, distributed information systems, real-time systems, databases, vision and image processing, theory, algorithms, bioinformatics and bio-imaging, simulations, computational science, parallel and distributed computing, semantic web, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
