Job Description:
The School of Plant Sciences at the University of Arizona invites applications for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, 9-month tenure-track position in Systems Biology of Plant Abiotic Responses.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will address the molecular bases of the plant’s response to abiotic stresses – including but not limited to drought, salt, and high temperature. This individual will have or be expected to develop an innovative, internationally recognized, extramurally funded basic/applied research program using a broad range of approaches including genetic, physiological, computational, and genomic technologies. We are particularly seeking candidates who will use systems biology approaches and collaboratively utilize the available resources at the University of Arizona and its affiliated research centers to carry out translational research with major crops and/or natural populations. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and/or graduate teaching to support the plant biology and plant-environment interactions curriculum at the University of Arizona. The incumbent will also be expected to mentor and direct graduate students and postdoctoral research associates in learning plant systems biology, publish regularly in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, and participate in departmental, college and university committees and other professional activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in a plant science or a related discipline.

• Proficiency in computational and statistical analysis of large biological data sets.

• Evidence of scholarly productivity.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Postdoctoral research experience.
