REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Analyze large-scale datasets such as “omics” data for clinical and discovery research, and enable hypothesis testing and generation based on the integrative analyses of different data sets including “omics”, molecular, cellular, and clinical data.
- Provide bio statistical input for the design of research and clinical studies, create appropriate analysis plans, and data analysis/report
- Develop databases, data models and customize the solutions to meet specific project needs.
- Identify and implement bioinformatics approaches that can advance current and future research and discovery projects
- Presentations and publications for internal and external communications
- PhD degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or a related field, with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in NGS data analysis including microarray, RNAseq and single cell data analysis, computational algorithm development, and the use and development of analysis and visualization tools
- Experience in statistical packages (e.g. R/SAS) and statistical analysis are required
- Programming skills are required for this position including competence in Python, R and database query language (ie MySQL)
- Experience in cancer biology, immunology or cardiovascular diseases are highly desirable.
