Job Description:
Columbia University's Department of Systems Biology invites applicants for a senior level research position of Associate Research Scientist. Candidates should have strong scientific and postdoctoral experience.

The focus of the research entails mapping and reconstructing cell regulatory networks at the molecular level; using computational models to predict how genomic and epigenomic diversity processed by these networks leads to physiologic or pathologic phenotypes; experimentally validate the computational predictions that are derived from these models; and the development of new technologies for studying biology at the systems level.

The candidate will be involved in collaboration with other groups from the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center and must have the ability to work with scientists to understand project requirements and to provide advice and guidance on bioinformatics solutions. As a result, he or she must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum Degree Required: Ph.D.

Minimum Qualifications:

All applicants MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered for the position. Requires a PhD or MD/PhD in related sciences. A background in quantitative sciences (physics, mathematics, computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, or engineering) coupled with a solid understanding of systems biology, biochemistry, genetics, and/or cell biology.
