Job Description:
Dr. Bowcock is looking for a candidate with outstanding computational skills, experience with the analysis of large-scale data, and an understanding of cancer biology. A successful candidate will carry out bioinformatics analysis and interpretation of high throughput data from exome sequencing, SNP arrays (for CNV detection), Chip-Seq and RNA-sequencing. The candidate will work together closely with interdisciplinary teams of computational and molecular scientists. Publication in reputed journals is highly encouraged. In addition to technical expertise, we are looking for someone who is passionate about applying their skills to advance our understanding and treatment of cancer.

What You'll Bring:

-Minimum M.S or PhD (or equivalent research experience) in computational biology, bioinformatics, cancer biology, genomics, or a related field

-Extensive experience working with next-generation sequencing data (including Exome-sequencing, CNV analysis, RNA-seq etc.), where the candidate has analyzed raw reads and downstream processing to test scientific questions

-Proficiency in at least one programming language: R, Python, Java, etc.

-Basic knowledge of statistics: significance testing, Basic probability distributions used in computational biology

-Skilled at clearly communicating scientific results and collaborate effectively with team and have good publication record

-Ideal if candidate has some level of bench lab experience with molecular biology techniques
